EADS North America

Integrated Shelter Systems is a business activity of EADS North America, the U.S. holding company for North American activities of EADS – the world’s second largest aerospace and defense company.

EADS North America is a key supplier to the U.S. military services, homeland security agencies and law enforcement organizations, with proven capabilities in delivering mission-ready systems on time and with the highest quality.

EADS North America’s UH-72A Lakota is in U.S. Army service for MEDEVAC missions, as well as transport, airlift and logistics.

The company is providing up to 322 UH-72A Lakota Light Utility Helicopters to the U.S. Army in a multi-year acquisition.  This program marked one of the most rapid introductions of a new aircraft in the Army’s history, with the first operational unit becoming operational in 2007 – less than 11 months after the contract award in June 2006.  The UH-72A’s Full Material Release authorization from the Army’s Aviation and Missile Command was granted at the initial request, which was a first in AMCOM history for an Army aviation system.

EADS North America’s American Eurocopter business unit is one of the leading suppliers of rotary-wing aircraft in the United States, with its helicopters utilized by the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, FBI, and law enforcement agencies from coast to coast.  The durability of American Eurocopter products are demonstrated daily in rescue, interdiction, and patrol missions performed by the U.S. Coast Guard’s HH-65 Dolphins, while EC120 helicopters provide surveillance and security patrol in service with U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The U.S. Coast Guard is acquiring a fleet of EADS CASA HC-144A fixed-wing maritime patrol aircraft to serve as an important new tool for the protection of America’s borders and the monitoring of international waters.

Other EADS North America military business includes the SIMTEX cyber network security training system, which has been used by the U.S. Air Force since 2003, and is regularly employed in joint exercises with the U.S. Army, Navy and Marine Corps.

EADS North America Defense Security and Systems Solutions is providing information technology technical support to the U.S. Department of Defense’s Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) in a multi-year contract, while EADS North America Defense Test and Services supports in-field engine test systems used with Navy fighters and rotary-wing aircraft – which will be extended to include the new VH-71A U.S. Presidential helicopter.
